Alumni Privacy Choice
The California State Senate enacted Senate Bill 569 to protect the personal data of alumni of public higher education institutions. Please read the following information carefully to fully understand your rights and the options available to you. The Cal State East Bay Alumni Association works with select companies – known as "affinity partners" - to offer useful and cost-saving products and services to alumni. At present, these services include discounted medical and property insurance and a credit card. The Alumni Association provides alumni names and addresses to its affinity partners so they can promote these products to you. Affinity programs provide a source of revenue for the Alumni Association. With this income, the Alumni Association supports student events and scholarships; alumni programs and publications, including the Cal State East Bay Magazine; and university activities.
You have the right to restrict the sharing of your name, address, and electronic mail address with our affinity partners. This form does not prohibit the university from sharing your information when it is required to do so by law.
Unless you say "no," the Alumni Association may share your name and address with our affinity partners. These companies may send you offers through the mail to purchase various products or services that we have agreed they may offer in partnership with us.
If you decide that you do not want to receive information from our partners, please do one of the following:
- Submit the online form below.
- E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your current contact information and "Privacy Choice" in the subject line.
